NEIU 19 Regional Competition for the PA High School Computer Fair 2012
Seven students from the Computer Systems Technology Class at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County attended the NEIU 19 regional competition of the PA High School Computer Fair. The Pennsylvania High School Computer Fair is an annual event that highlights Pennsylvania high school students' application skills and computer knowledge. Students are able to unleash their creativity, learn how to convey information more dynamically, and enhance the learning process. Categories for the competition are Animation, Computer Fair Logo, Digital Movie, Graphic Design, Programming, and Web Page Design.
The group won with three of their entries. Jerome Czachor and Kyle Recipko received First Place in Web Page Design, Matt Magdon received Second Place in Programming, and Casey Bobrovcan and Jerome Czachor received Third Place for their Computer Fair Logo entry.

The CST class at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County is designed to train students in the latest computer hardware & software. Students will learn about the various hardware components used in today's computer systems, including CPUs, motherboards, memory, hard drives, and I/O (USB/FireWire). Software will include Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 & various versions of Linux, & Microsoft Server 2003/2008. Students will also become familiar with Microsoft Office components including Word, Excel, & Outlook.
